The current economic downturn has forced the IT industry to look into virtualisation.
To provide the local take on this trend, ITWeb's second annual Virtualisation of the Enterprise conference will take place from 21 to 22 July at The Forum in Bryanston.
The conference is aimed at increasing companies' understanding of how virtualisation works; its benefits, including cost reduction and business agility; how to use it as a tool for consolidation as well as the pitfalls to look out for.
Delegates will be able to explore solutions for leveraging, securing and managing their virtualised environments.
The two-day event will see 17 speakers cover various topics such as workload management and disaster recovery, presented by channel manager of Novell SA, Matthew Lee. He will discuss how to meet the challenges of adhering to current regulations concerning virtualised data, analysing the benefits and drawbacks, and responding to disaster recovery.
Also speaking at the conference is Haydn Pinnell, MD of Gallium. He will present a case study on going virtual, explain the process involved and why companies should consider it.
Day two of the conference will see Chris Norton, regional director of VMware, speak about the challenges of enterprise virtualisation. He will also cover the cost-effectiveness and flexibility of these solutions.
This conference is targeted at IT professionals interested in how virtualisation can help their organisations as well as individuals who want to improve their current virtualisation operations.
